Mr. Saad Mumtaz Hashmi is a partner of the firm, and simultaneously of-counsel to Fazleghani Advocates since 2011. Mr. Hashmi holds an L.L.B. degree from Swansea University, and was later called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
He is an Advocate of the High Court and has been involved in a number of important cases before the High Courts and the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He possesses vast experience in matters relating to Constitutional, Commercial, Taxation, Election, Employment, Intellectual Property, Accountability, Banking and Family laws. Amongst the many notable milestones in his career, Mr. Hashmi was part of the team, which successfully argued and secured the restoration of four Honourable Judges of the Lahore High Court in the case of Munir Hussain Bhatti v. Federation of Pakistan. In 2014, he was part of the team before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, wherein the Gas Infrastructure Development Cess Act, 2011 was under challenge. In the judgment reported as Federation of Pakistan v. Durrani Ceramics & others, the Supreme Court was pleased to declare the statute unconstitutional.
